What you’ll find out when you spend time around HHBC.
We are committed to the Word of God - All scripture has given by God and is useful for teaching, reproving, correcting and instructing in righteousness so that believers can be fully equipped for all good works (2 Timothy 3:16-17). It is important for every believer to know the Word of God so we give priority to teaching and preaching the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:28). Our primary Bible version for preaching is the King James Version, but Heritage Hills Baptist Church is not “King James Only.” It will not be rare to find a member or teacher using NKJV, NASB, or ESV.
We are committed to the Glory of God - We are not a “seeker sensitive” church. God has created all people for His glory (Isaiah 43:7; Colossians 1:16; Revelation 4:11). He saved us for His Glory (Ephesians 1:6) and commanded us to do everything for His glory and His pleasure (1 Corinthians 6:20, 10:31; 2 Corinthians 5:9-10) and to seek his glory in the church (Ephesians 3:21). We love all people and seek to do good to all men (Galatians 6:10), but God’s glory is our primary purpose so Heritage Hills Baptist Church will not neglect this as we evangelize the lost and edify believers.
We are committed to the Gospel - God loves every one in the world and demonstrated that by sending his son into the world to taste death for everyman and become the satisfaction for their sin (John 3:16; Romans 5:8; 1 John 4:9-10; Hebrews 2:9; 1 John 2:1-2). We are not Calvinists. We believe that Christ died for everyone, including those who reject truth and suffer separate from God in Hell. Individuals from any background who believe that Jesus Died and rose again on the third day and repent from their sin will be forgiven and given eternal life (Luke 24:46-47; Romans 6:23).
We are Committed to Missions - Christ commanded believers to make disciples of all nations by going, evangelizing, baptizing and teaching them (Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19-20). Heritage Hills Baptist Church is committed to preparing and supporting missionaries through prayer, financial support and fellowship.
We are committed to Diversity - God has created everyone in his image (Genesis 1:26-27) with one heart (Psalm 33:15) and One blood (Acts 17:26). We welcome believers from all ethnic, cultural, and social backgrounds.
We are committed to Holiness - God has commanded all believers to be holy in all of our conduct just as He is holy (1 Peter 1:15-16). He desires us to be separate from sin; the world; false doctrine; and those who call themselves Christians and continue in sin. He desires us to have a unified and pure church. As believers, we discipline ourselves (1 Corinthians 9:24-27; 11:31; Hebrews 12:1-2) as fellow believers we work to encourage and exhort one another regularly to grow in the Christian Faith (Hebrews 3:13). As a church we practice biblical church discipline to maintain the holiness and unity of the church (Matthew 18:15-18; 1 Corinthians 5:7-13).
We are Committed to Prayer - God works through the prayers of believers as they pray according to His Will (John 15:7; 1 John 5:14-15; James 4:1-3). As a church, we are committed to spending time praying regularly when we meet and to share needs throughout the week (Acts 2:42).
We are committed to Fellowship - The local church is meant to function as a body (Romans 12; 1 Corinthians 12). The first century church was dedicated to fellowship among the believers in the local church (Acts 2:42). Heritage Hills Baptist Church also makes fellowship among its members a high priority as we spend time together at church, with regular fellowship times and casually throughout the week.
